Choosing this option will allow students to develop their skills in a variety of track and field events, whether they are experienced athletes or new to the sport. Our state-of-the-art running track was opened by GB Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes and is the ideal location for students to progress their athletic abilities. 

Badminton is among the world’s top 10 most participated sports. It is an extremely popular indoor sport and is played regularly by an estimated 220 million people. Students will improve their skills through focused drills and technique practice before coming together to take part in round-robin tournaments. 

Ever since ‘The Great British Bake Off’ became a global television hit, baking has grown in popularity. This activity allows students to learn how to bake a variety of cakes, pastries and desserts under supervision and, best of all, sample their creations.

Basketball is an incredibly popular sport, played by approximately 450 million people all over the world. In our basketball sessions, students of all abilities improve their skills through carefully planned drills before putting them into practice in match situations.

One of the benefits of having students from so many different countries is that we have the opportunity to share so much, and cooking international cuisine is no exception. Students work together to create a variety of dishes with supervision from our catering team. 

Students will have the chance to learn ballroom dancing and street dance over the four days. There is the opportunity to perform their chosen dance at the Talent Show that takes place at the end of each session.

Sevenoaks is a picturesque town in Kent with almost 800 years of history. Students have the chance to visit some of the town’s top attractions and also take part in some quintessentially British outings. Students will visit Knole House and Ightham Mote, two beautiful National Trust houses in the local area. They will also enjoy a treasure hunt and play croquet while enjoying cream tea on the lawn. 

Football is the world’s most popular sport and played to a very high standard at Sevenoaks School. With guidance from one of our Level 2 FA-qualified coaches, students will improve their skills through focused drills and small sided games. Each session is planned in great detail allowing students to develop their skillset over the four days.

Sevenoaks students understand the importance of maintaining a healthy body as well as a healthy mind, and this activity gives them the chance to do exactly that. With expert supervision and guidance, students can use the school’s state-of-the-art gym and take part in activities like circuit training and work on the athletics track. 

Golfers develop their skills at Nizels Golf Club – a beautiful course next to the school. Unique amongst UK golf courses, Nizels Golf Club offers a rolling rolling parkland.  Each student receives expert coaching from one of the club’s resident professionals, taking advantage of the driving range and full 18-hole course. 

Martial arts allow you to build your confidence and coordination while learning self-defence techniques in a safe and fun environment. This co-curricular option focuses on a combination of Taekwondo, Jiu-jitsu and many other techniques to give students a rounded introduction to martial arts. Open to everyone regardless of experience, this activity allows students to develop skills that are fun, safe and practical.

In the modern world, everyone with a smart phone is an amateur photographer and videographer. This co-curricular option allows students to think more deeply about the photos and videos they take by considering factors like lighting, composition and aperture. Sevenoaks School is an ideal location with some amazing photo and video opportunities created by our beautiful and varied surroundings. 

It is very easy for people to rely on Google for many things in life, but what happens if this luxury is taken away? The Survival Skills co-curricular option will help students learn how to get by without technological help through fire-building, map-reading, foraging and shelter-building while having a lot of fun along the way. 

Swimmers of all abilities can take advantage of the school’s fantastic 25 metre indoor swimming pool. Our trained coaches will help swimmers improve their technique as well as organise fun and dynamic swimming-based activities.

Sevenoaks is highly regarded for tennis provision. Our facilities include three indoor courts (acrylic/Plexipave), seven outdoor hard courts and two astroturf courts. Students will be placed in ability groups in the first session. All students will receive expert guidance from one of our resident tennis professionals, drill training and ample opportunity for match-play.

Volleyball is one of the world’s most popular sports, and is ever-growing. It is currently played by an estimated 800 million people worldwide. Here at Sevenoaks, those who choose volleyball as their co-curricular option will take part in a variety of skills-based activities designed to improve and develop each player’s technique. Each session ends with a match, allowing the students to show what they have learned and improved on in the session.
