FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics

This course introduces students to the exciting world of competitive robotics through the internationally recognised FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) for ages 14-16.

Whether they are completely new to robotics or already part of an FTC team, students will work together to design, build and programme robots while developing practical engineering, coding and problem-solving skills.

Using the 2026–27 FTC season challenge, BIOBUZZ, students will explore real-world themes in science, technology and innovation as they prepare a robot to complete a series of game-based tasks.

Experienced FTC participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and competition experience, while newcomers will gain a strong foundation in robotics, programming and the engineering design process.

Alongside the technical elements of the course, students will develop teamwork, project management, communication and leadership skills. The programme is designed both as a head start for students interested in joining a robotics team and as an opportunity for existing competitors to deepen their understanding and inspire others.
